-601 Sector Tracking driver not installed

1. If an old software version is used

The sector tracking driver cannot be used on this machine, if you use version 5.1.11.6326 (or later), driverless incremental backup is possible, so it is recommended to install the latest version 5.1.11.6326 (or later).

Please uninstall the existing version (tasks/settings can be kept), at the end of the uninstallation a system restart is necessary. Afterwards you can install the latest version: http://download.actiphy.eu/AIP-Windows.html (no reboot necessary).

After that you can start the backup software again and edit the existing backup task if it already exists and in the advanced backup options, activate at the item "VSS Settings" in the section "Excluded files" > 'pagefile' , 'hiberfil' and 'volume information' and save the backup task at the end.

 

2. If a current software version is used

  • - Navigate to the installation path, e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Actiphy\ActiveImage Protector\" or "C:\Program Files\Actiphy\ActiveImage Protector\" and start the application "AipControl.exe" as administrator and enter the following 2 commands afterwards:
    • schedules * upgrade
    • profiles * upgrade

- If you still receive the error, check the following setting in the backup tasks. To do this, go back to the installation path and change to the subfolder "Profiles", where the backup tasks are located as XML files. Open the backup files with a text editor and go to the following line:

<UsingCBC>0</UsingCBC>

Change the value 0 to 1 and repeat the step for all necessary XML files in this folder.
