-553 / -559 Accessing backup target

There is a problem with accessing the backup target storage, below is an overview of possible causes and solutions:

  1. Make sure that access to the backup target storage is still possible by starting ActiveImage Protector and editing the existing backup task and check in the is section that there is no problem. Adjust the path or user credentials if necessary.
  2. If access to the backup target storage works, but the backup fails during creation, check the hardware on which the backup is stored. For external media such as USB/RDX drives, check the drive status, if possible check SMART values to find possible errors. For network storage such as SMB/CIFS shares or iSCSI volumes, check the network connection from the source and destination systems. It is possible the network card or switch is causing problems. Additionally, check the drive status in the network storage, if possible check SMART values to find possible errors.
