Before starting with the technical part of the upgrade, it is necessary to request a new serial key valid to activate AIP 2022.
Go to the Partner Portal.
Enter your login and search for the license to upgrade
Click on the Upgrade button on the right side of the Renew maintenance button.
To upgrade the existing installation, the minimum version 5.1.11.6326 is required. Otherwise, you need to update the AIP 2018 installation to the mentioned version or uninstall the current version and install the new ActiveImage Protector 2022 version.
Yes, ImageCenter is compatible with both the current ActiveImage Protector version 2022 and version 2018.
If you receive the message "-409" or "Older image, not support quick verify Level = ERROR[0]" after updating to ActiveImage Protector Version 2022 and retention policies are not working, a new backup chain has not yet been created. Start a fresh full backup as it is technically not possible to continue the old chain.
Note: This only affects the post-backup processes. Older formats can be restored with downward compatibility.
The file names are fixed and based on the task and image ID and cannot be changed. This setting was integrated to fix problems caused by Windows (Windows disk numbering changed after update or BIOS update > backup volume changed, which has many negative effects).
Windows Explorer and the name of the file or folder need not be known, since the image is listed directly with the host name in ActiveImage Protector. It is enough to select the main folder from the backup storage path. The subfolders and their content are recognized automatically.
